Dahlia – shadow quilting.

This Dahlia design is deceptively easy to make using the shadow quilting technique.  Just start by drawing the petal shapes onto the heat ‘n’ bond,  iron on the graduated fabric, cut out the petal shapes, peel off the backing paper, iron onto the white fabric in the correct position. Layer up with the wadding, fabric and finally voile on top and sew through all the layers using perle thread. How easy is that …….

This is also avaible as a kit that contains the graduated fabric, white fabric, heat ‘n’ bond, wadding, voile, perle thread and the pattern.

Finished size 20″ x 20″.

I bought the kit as it was much easier than having to worry about how much material etc. I needed. I started the other weekend and didn’t stop till it was finished… it looks really good. I think I’m going to make it into a quilt, with a whole selection of different flowers. Thank you for designing this!
